摘要：20世纪90年代后，中国开始积极接受地区的概念，并将重点放在东亚地区。参加多边贸易体制是中国融入世界经济的战略选择。但是，当越来越多的贸易是在区域集团内开展的时候，仅参加世界贸易组织远远不足以使中国获取贸易自由化的最大利益。胡锦涛总书一记在党的十七大报告中提出，要“实施自由贸易区战略”。这一要求结合了我国拓展对外开放的广度和深度，是提高开放型经济水平的现实需要，突出强调了自由贸易区战略的重要性。中国与东盟建立自由贸易区，适应了区域经济一体化发展的潮流，也是中国自由贸易区战略的开端。提出建立中国一东盟自由贸易区的基础是经济利益的驱使，寻求经济利益最大化促使中国与东盟加强经济合作。本文研究的重点就是建立中国一东盟自由贸易区所产生的经济效应。同时，文中还关注金融危机对中国和东盟经济造成的影响，探讨后危机时期中国一东盟自由贸易区的推进问题。此外，还对美国、日本、韩国和东盟的自由贸易区战略进行对比分析，提出我国自由贸易区战略的调整，并针对目前CAFTA建设中存在的主要问题，提出我国应采取的策略。
