摘 要：九叶诗人杜运燮在20世纪40年代借鉴奥登智性诗学精义并结合中国历史和现实和自己的诗学追求进行诗歌创作，他的诗歌表现出别具一格的幽默、机智、亦庄亦谐诙谐的现代特征，机智中渗透着情感，其思想情感的知觉化表现的背后透露出的是一位智者生命的思索和宇宙感悟，他对英美国现代诗人尤其是奥登的成功借鉴对改变当时诗坛的滥情和无病呻吟起了重要的作用，由此受到诗歌界与学术界的广泛关注。本文分别从杜运燮诗的“机智”之诗学内涵、艺术表现及本体探求三个方面对此进行阐述。
