Abstract：The thesis is a study of symbolism in the novel The Rainbow which is written by D. H. Lawrence, the most famous writer in 20th century. Literary symbolism is a very famous and important topic in literature study.
The novel is one of his classic novels which are full of symbols. Through analyzing the novel, the change of ideas on moral values, love, and religion shows clearly. Through the study of the change, the conflict between traditional life and new life because of the Industrial Revolution and the development of the society is expressed clearly by Lawrence. Lawrence is good at using symbolism in novel creating. Through the analysis of the symbols in the novel, a profound meaning is discovered. The study of symbolism is also a very good way to study other works of Lawrence and the influence from Lawrence.

摘要：本论文是研究小说中的虹，这是由劳伦斯，在20世纪最著名的作家写的一个象征。文学的象征意义是非常有名，在文学研究的重要课题。
这部小说是他的古典小说之一，通过分析小说，道德价值观，爱情，和宗教节目清楚观念的变化。通过变化的研究，传统的生活和新的生活，因为工业革命和社会发展之间的冲突时明确表示。劳伦斯善于运用象征主义小说创作。通过分析小说的符号,发现具有深远的意义。这项研究的象征意义也是一个很好的方法来研究劳伦斯和劳伦斯的影响的其他作品。
